Upower acknowledges that our program sites reside on the unceded ancestral lands of the Duwamish People. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.

Program Update

September 30, 2019

New Location, New Students

As we continue to grow our partnerships with Interagency Academy, King County Juvenile Detention, and Highline Public Schools, we are busy expanding our programming.

Upower classes will soon be offered at the Echo Glen Children’s Center and to middle schools students in the Highline school district.

Echo Glen is a Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) Juvenile Rehabilitation facility that serves at-risk youth. Located in Snoqualmie, Echo Glenn marks our first location on the Eastside.

Middle schoolers are a new demographic for Upower. Thanks to a federal grant awarded to the Youth Engagement in Sports (YES) Initiative, we are able to expand our curriculum and offer programs specifically designed for middle school students (ages 10 to 13).
